Round collar VCD - KPA

Round collar VCD

OUR SERVICESDuct collars are attached to the main duct branches and the plenum system to attach and install straight fitting for ducts.

Installation of a duct collar is one of the initial steps in working and planning for a duct system . This plan requires an HVAC knowledge or a detailed overview of the designed duct work as well as the capacity to work in crawl spaces in most cases.

Volume Control Dampers are a critical element of any HVAC system.

They function by enhancing the productivity of the HVAC system by increasing the air circulation in the air-conditioning or ventilation systems.

Volume Control Dampers, which are typically installed in duct branches, are used to stabilise or constrain air movement in the ducts. To control the flow and pressure of air, these dampers have manual adjusters and mechanised actuators.

These volume Control Dampers are ideal for commercial buildings or offices where there is very little control of natural air.

Volume Control Dampers are manufactured in stainless steel, aluminium and galvanised steel sheets.

There are various types of Volume Control Dampers:

Motorized Volume Control Dampers:

Motorized Volume Control Dampers are much more effective and efficient working. They are more resistant to corrosion and abrasion and can be easily installed in places with high moisture and humidity. These dampers are much more adjustable and are effective in reducing excess pressure build up in the rooms and improves the HVAC system efficiency and cuts down on power costs. It usually has a thickness of 1.2mm made of galvanized steel.

Motorized Volume Control Dampers usually come with either Parallel blade operation or opposed blade operation:

  • Parallel Blade dampers work in such a way that all the blades move in the same direction but are parallel to each other.
  • Opposed Blade dampers work in a way that the blades that are next to each other move in the opposite directions.

Slip and Clip Type Volume Control Damper

These Dampers have a hand controlled quadrant and are commonly installed in places that have medium to low pressure of air flow. These dampers are mostly available in sizes of 600mm w and 400mm h and have a thickness of 0.9mm. They have a rubber gasket seal blade for low air leakage operation.

Round collar VCDs are commonly available in balancing or control damper configurations. They are generally modeled in higher static pressure or high flow velocity implementations and are fitted in spiral duct work

In order to ensure good operating principle in any intake vents system, you must choose the proper damper. This will help you maximise productivity while reducing operational costs. The damper dimensions have to be suitable for the estimated airflow volume in any system. The operator should choose a size that generates enough velocity (and thus enough pressure drop) to ensure consistent air flow and control.
