Exhaust fans
Exhaust fans are a crucial part of the system that help in pulling exhaust air from the kitchen and releasing it outside through the duct . These fans help pull all the exhaust air from your kitchens and release it out of the house through a duct to the discharge channel. Your kitchen could harbour various types of contaminants or molds in small corners due to moisture build up and can also increase the humidity of the kitchen. If find these faults then you certainly might need to repair the exhaust fan:
The motor of the fan has stopped working as it could have burned out or there is damage in any other electrical part like the wiring or switch. If you see a lot of dust on the fans and other parts then it may be due to poorly working hood or broken parts of the fan. The fan would make noises and vibration sounds and would need a replacement.
If there is any blockage or clogging in the system then you might need to replace the hood filters as it might cause the hood to deteriorate and would damage the fan too.
Ducts
The ducts might need repair if you find gaps or holes and them or any kind of visible dents. If it is not repaired in time then it might slowly cause the exhaust system to degrade, there will be a lot of friction in the air movement and you might end up with a replacement.
It can also cause the duct to use up more energy resulting in higher energy consumption and utility bills.
Grills
Grilles are stationary and have no motor function, and allow the movement of air in and out. Because grills are retractable, they can offer airflow in a specified direction, but if they are not installed properly, they will not perform as intended.
You may have broken or jammed grills, which can also influence the uptake of exhaust air from the kitchen, because there will be little or no air movement into the rooms.
When the grills are clogged they may become obstructed and unclean, necessitating service and fixing.
