Fiberglass Lined Air Ducts are generally installed in the HVAC system. These ducts are useful for reducing and dampening the excess noise. These are also useful in providing a layer of insulation to the inner or outer part of the duct to prevent air leaks and condensation
Fiberboard Air Ducts: These ducts are made from Inorganic glass fibres bonded with resin and formed into boards. The outer part of the board is covered with foil and is 1- 2 inches thick.
Sheet Metal Air Ducts: These are the most common and widely used type of duct. They are made of Galvanized mild steel or aluminum. These are easy to work with as they can be cut, bent,or moulded into desired shapes easily. Due to having a non porous surface these ducts are resistant to mold growth and bacteria and are much more durable.
Flexible Air Ducts: This duct system is very lightweight and can be used to small spaces or houses with limited spaces. They are comparatively inexpensive and easy to install. It is made with a light metal shaped into a spiral or helix structure and as the name suggests is flexible in structure. These ducts have a low support structure and are much less durable.
Similar to other mechanical and electrical systems the ducts and other parts of an Air conditioning system these a regular preventive maintenance and care so that it uses lesser amount of heat energy and provides efficient working.
