TDF clips

OUR SERVICESA TDF or Transverse Duct Flanges is a system of flanges, which helps in connecting the pipes, valves or other metal fittings.

These are then sealed and bolted using gaskets. A TDF (slip on flange) system consists of flanges on the duct ends which are rolled onto the duct, providing it with insulation and an internal seal to the edges of the ducts.

The TDF is a 4-bolt duct connection system and has a hem on the flange to the inside of the structure. Its flanges connect to the duct and thus are of the same flange profile and material as the duct.

A TDF system has a very accurate profile of fittings and has a closeted groove on the flanges for proper gasketing. It has accurate fitting and interlocking of hems and is extremely flexible to use.

TDF clips are an integral part of the clipped ducting, in which the duct system made out of metal has a rolled out hem and edges are turned out to easily connect one duct edge to the edge of the other duct. A duct clamp is used for the purpose of quick clamping of the ducts to provide a quick and simple assembling of the parts. This gives the ducts a smoother design, an extra insulation and are very easy to install and work with.

A TDF cleat is :

Easy to operate and snaps easily and tightly. It usually has a 6" inch handle allowing it to reach difficult places. With a 16 gauge jaw it is extremely sturdy as well durable. It is generally made of a heavy duty metal and is able to withstand high temperature and is long lasting.

A TDF cleat is however not suitable for round air ducts.

  • It should be in accordance with the automatic assembly line to ensure the quality, accurate sizing, working efficiency and various other mechanical processes.
  • Special systems and designs should be made in accordance with the Technical Regulations for Ventilation Ducts.
  • A TDF duct should be ideally made of galvanized steel and the plate flanges must be installed such that it does not allow air leaks and energy losses. Austenitic steel is preferred for these parts.
  • The duct flanges should be sealed with a sealing rubber gasket to improve tightness and the flange corners must be sealed with a glass glue to prevent leakage.
