S Clips (Cleats)

OUR SERVICESWhether you have a new duct installation or a replacement of an existing duct, you need to understand the connecting parts of the Duct.

It is a fairly simple process of you are aware of the procedure and some simple parts used in connecting the ducts.

During the fabrication of the duct system ,the cleats are an important component to connect and safeguard the two ducts to be joined together. The narrower sides of these ducts, that are usually 180° or less, are joined by these cleats.

The S Clips or Cleats are used to join together pieces of rectangular trunk or stack duct and to secure the bare edges of the rectangular duct. These cleats should be made of galvanized steel and are to be sealed with and approved mastic or sealant.

These clips enable the duct system with a smoother and efficient design and makes the assemblage of the internal parts much simpler. Due to this it saves a lot of time during installation or during replacement of any part.

OUR SERVICESDue to a simple and effective design you can easily disassemble the parts for cleaning or maintenance purposes.

Due to these clips being airtight , it reduces the chances of duct damage and air leaks.

Each rectangular duct has four sides connected separately involving Slip & Drive Duct, two shorter sides for the hem of the drive Cleat and the two longer sides that are the raw edges for Flat S (or Standing S) Cleat.

The Flat S (or Standing S) Cleat andDrive Cleat are connected end to end transversely. The flat s are on the top and bottom parts and the drive cleats are the left and right side parts

First all the ducts are pulled together and then the Drive hems or edges are connected to attach the Drive cleats. These are then hammered to the ducts and overlap the S Clips

About 45% of the installation task is reduced by using S clips and are extremely versatile as they can be installed in any system or even your existing duct system.

Redesigning is an issue if the mechanical parts are to be changed but it becomes much easier with the clipped ducting as you can reuse these multiple times and are very easily disassembled and reassembled.

These clips are generally installed with a rubber gasket to give extra insurance that there are no air leaks or open ducts.

Before any installation make sure you read the safety codes and construction procedures and related laws for you building and area and always be ready with safety gears like rubber gloves, eye goggles, helmet and masks
