Replacement of Kitchen Exhaust system

OUR SERVICESReplacement of any mechanical system can be a daunting task.

. It will become even more complicated if you aren't aware of its basic mechanical and electrical parts.

Through this article you can understand the basic components and the functioning of a kitchen exhaust system and will be aware what goes into the replacement process:

Duct system:  As the name implies, they have a ductwork for air distribution. They incorporate the placement of a duct and pipe system that takes up the space of a wall or a cabinet. These ducts are made out of stainless steel or any non combustible material for durability and should be resistant to rust and corrosion.

Make sure the distance between the duct from and the stove is between 26 to 30 inches.

The kitchen duct system is made up of the following components:

Hood: It is the section just above the cooktop that transports all of the hot air, and this air is absorbed by a propeller on the inside of the hood.

Fan/Blower:The heated air as well as other contaminants are absorbed by the fan installed within the hood.

Honeycomb filter: removes all of the drippings and other cooking residues from the exhaust fumes. Make sure the filters are installed in such a way that you can remove them yourself for cleaning.

Ozone generator: helps clean contaminated air by oxidising with effluents and releasing oxygen, a process known as oxygenation.

Why do you need a replacement?
  • You will witness more smoke and suffocation inside the kitchen which could be due to a possible fault in the hood system. The grease removal will not be not appropriately by the system as there may be clogging or blockage in the interiors.
  • Your exhaust system may not be serving the purpose you installed it for. This could be due to the incorrect type of range hood for the kitchen or improper installation of the hood. Consult with a professional company and find out the appropriate type of hood for your kitchen.
  • There could be a lot of damage in the parts due to improper maintenance or careless methods of cooking. This will result in dents and holes in the system and will also result in grease build up. If you witness a lot of grease build up on the parts , that is extremely challenging to remove, then you must consider replacing it as it will not only deteriorate the functioning but also be susceptible to fire.
  • If you see a lot of dust and dirt despite turning on the exhaust system, it may be due to a faulty fan or filter. If you haven’t replaced the filter for a long time make sure to replace it and clean it every month. If the fan is making unusual noises that check for broken parts or worn out propeller. Burned out fan motor could also be a possible fault.

Make sure you hire a trusted company that can guide through all the exhaust system guidelines and protocols of your building or area and have experience in providing quality service for the Replacement of Kitchen exhaust system.
